An acceleration forward in time. Future advances and many more are mostly contributed to the help of the internet. A scientist in France can send an email to a scientist in the U.S.A within seconds detailing results from a new cancer treatment. Professors around the world can chat in real-time with their students from the comfort of their own home.
Before having the World Wide Web, people would do all communication through snail. It often took weeks to receive communication. We now live in a world where millions of small to large online business conduct business globally. All it takes is a no-cost WordPress platform and a few WordPress plugins to start a internet business.
This can be achieved within a few hours. If an one era could be captured in history that defined a civilizations advancement in technology, the internet would be play a major role in that little piece of history. News from around the globe can be piped through a live feed through the internet. Demonstrations and protests are on the rise as groups are able to mass on scales not seen in past generations. All because of the internet. We as a people are better off with having the internet. Blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other services allow people to inspire each other no matter their location within the world.
On the negative side of things, there are those that do not think the internet should be free. For them it is dangerous because it seems too free. In their eyes, it should be controlled through regulation. But, if the internet is controlled, it will most likely bring it to ruins. It would break the very fabric it was created from.
A failure in our economy, business sector and more will be the result of a regulated internet. Forget about the entrepreneur, as he/she would no longer thrive online.
Even those business that are considered offline, would suffer badly. There will be many barriers these merchants will need to overcome to communicate overseas. Acts like this cause a domino effect. Without truly understand the connections within the internet, it would only cause chaos trying to regulate it.
A person would not find one place in the world today where the internet has not had a positive effect. Along with the good their is a small part of the internet that is bad. Pirates, organize crime and other black markets prosper within the free open market. Yet to allow the minority to ruin the majority of good the internet has brought the world is not acceptable.
Coming from a time before the internet I can remember what it was like. Yet I would never want to go back to an era before the internet. For those that remember a life without the internet, it would be a drastic change in every part of your life. It increased my ability to generate income, learn new things and communicate with family and friends. It has also done these same things for millions of others around the world. The internet has touched billions of lives around the world. And as the internet continues to evolve, there will be more great things to come.
